The payment page shows how the charge is made up, and on Linux you finish buying a licence in the system browser.
A JUDLEX update, and all of it sits in the moment you buy a licence.
When you buy one you choose the level, how many seats you want — one seat for each computer that will open the application — and whether you pay monthly or yearly. JUDLEX now shows you where the figure comes from before it asks for your card, and on Linux you finish the payment in the system browser.
On Linux you finish the payment in the browser
When you choose “Buy”, JUDLEX opens a payment page in the system browser. The application keeps what you selected, and the payment page arrives with those details already filled in.
What activates the licence is the payment confirmed at the server, not your return to the application. Coming back from the browser does not by itself prove you have paid, so if you close the browser after paying, the seat goes active all the same and you do not have to buy it again.
On macOS and Windows you still pay inside the application, which is more convenient, and JUDLEX only turns to the browser if that form does not load.
The offer sets the price
The offer is what JUDLEX has published at any given time: which licence levels there are, how many seats each one includes and what any extra seats cost.
The application sends what you choose — level, seats and period — not the amount: the server works that out from the offer published at that moment. Paying yearly has an offer of its own, with its own discount.
A new price, or a new level, therefore reaches the purchase screen without waiting for a new version of JUDLEX.
The total is itemised before you pay
Before it asks for your card, the payment page shows you the amount before tax, whatever tax applies and the total, in the currency you will be charged in. It is the same figure the server uses for the charge, so what you see is what you will be billed.
