The watched folder is a folder on your computer that JUDLEX keeps an eye on for you. Whatever lands in it reaches the Personal Inbox without you dragging anything. By default it is Downloads, and it exists only in the Personal section.
The first time you open Personal, JUDLEX adds it by itself. You do not have to switch anything on.
What comes in by itself and what waits
PDFs, saved emails and Word and Excel documents come in by themselves. What goes to the Inbox is copied into the Personal documents folder. After that it follows the same path as any other paper, as My papers describes.
Images do not come in by themselves. They may be screenshots you would rather not send anywhere, so they wait in a tray that asks Shall I keep it?. Yes, keep it lets them in. No leaves them out.
Anything that looks like the firm's does not come in either: it waits apart under Looks like the firm's, as explained in My papers.
It is copied, not moved
What comes in is copied. If you later delete the file from Downloads while the document is still unread in the Inbox, JUDLEX removes it from the Inbox too. Once it has been read, split or moved to a matter, it is part of your work and stays even if you delete the file from Downloads. Whatever you upload or drag in by hand is never removed on its own: each document in the Inbox has a bin button, Remove from the Inbox, in case you dragged one in by mistake.
JUDLEX waits for a file to finish downloading before it picks it up. It leaves hidden files and half-finished downloads alone. It looks only at the folder you gave it, not at subfolders.
Where you manage it
In Settings, on the Watched folders tab, which appears only in Personal:
Add adds another folder.
The switch on each folder pauses it.
Stop watching takes it off the list.
That tab also has the Word and Excel section, which says whether LibreOffice is installed and, if not, how to install it.
If the Professional section is open
The watched folder works for Personal. If you happen to be in the Professional section, nothing that arrives is lost: JUDLEX makes a note of it, flags it with a dot on the Personal tab and puts it in the Inbox when you open that section.
