The notice reads This computer needs to be authorised, followed by Your work is still here and you can view and export it. To use the licence on this computer, authorise it from your JUDLEX account. It comes with an Authorise this computer button.
Your work has not gone anywhere. Until the computer is authorised, JUDLEX runs in read-only mode: you can open, view and export everything.
Why JUDLEX asks
This computer does not match the one registered on the licence. It usually happens for one of these reasons:
The JUDLEX folder has been copied to another computer.
A backup has been restored onto a new machine.
A major part of the computer has been replaced.
The licence does not move from one computer to another on its own: someone with access to the account has to approve it. That way, a copy of the folder on somebody else's machine cannot take your seat.
How to authorise it
Click Authorise this computer
It is in the notice itself.
Enter the account email
In JUDLEX account email, type the email of the account that holds the licence and click Request authorisation. The window changes to Waiting for authorisation.
Approve it at judlex.com
Sign in at judlex.com with that account and open My licences. The request from this computer is listed there, ready to approve or decline. It has to be approved by whoever manages the licence.
Go back to JUDLEX
There is nothing else to do. Within a few seconds JUDLEX switches on by itself and shows This computer is now authorised.
The web side, including what happens when every seat is in use, is covered in Authorising a computer.
If it asks again straight after you authorise
Check that the computer sets its date and time automatically. If the clock is out, the check on the computer fails even though you have just authorised it. Fix it in the system's date and time settings and open JUDLEX again.
If the request does not go through
The request was declined from the account. Someone declined it at judlex.com. If that was a mistake, click Request it again.
The request expired without an answer. Nobody approved it in time. Click Request it again and approve it at judlex.com.
Too many authorisation requests in a row. Wait a minute and ask again.
judlex.com does not accept authorising computers this way yet, or Could not reach judlex.com. If the computer is online, sign in to your account in Profile → Account and security and activate the licence from Licence and plans: Sign-in and device lock. If that still does not work, write to us from Support: Getting help.
